XChat Client for Windows Tutorial

First, we need to download x-chat.
For compatiblity, We have archived a copy which can be downloaded by clicking here.
1. Click Ok

2. Leave the plugins alone, Uncheck Languages unless you require them, and check eye candy.

3. Click Next

4. Click Install

5. Click next

6. Click Finish

7. Populate the fields as told in the image,
prepare to enter something at step 8 at the final step of this part

8. With the edit line open, type in CodeCall_on_Podnet, or whatever you wish to describe this as
Click edit to open the new window, then click edit again
Enter irc.podnet.org/6667 in this box as shown
Check and uncheck to match what is on our screen
In your favorite channels, enter #codecall, or whatever channel you plan on visiting.
--- Note #help is our help channel.
Finally enter your nickserv password if you have one.
Click close.

9. Skip the network list on startup should be checked now, then click connect

10. You should be connected, please make sure that your firewall is not blocking port 6667.
If so, perhaps our mibbit program may work for you better.
Lets describe the window:
1 is where you enter your chat lines, and special messages, such as /msg Johnbot calc 2+2
2 shows who entered what line of text
3 shows the topic
4 shows the people in the room, purple people are chanops, green people are half ops.
---Note that server operators (such as morefood2001 and John) and founders are not shown with their status in this client.
5 shows notices sent to the room from the server and operators.

11. To exit: click quit.

12. To re-enter the chat, click your xchat icon on the desktop:
Then it should automatically re-enter the chat with no questions asked.
A few notes about the image below to help:
1. John is also a server operator
2. This shows up as red because it had my nick in the message.
3. This is a pm from morefood2001, click this directly to see what it says
