Podnet was created in 2007 by Mike Kane for the Save The Shows movement. Mike used the network excusively for STS chats and gatherings to discuss how to save American Dragon Jake Long (© Disney) from cancellation. That movement continues today at the original channel: #savetheshows.
Mike and Phil (morefood2001) met up in late 2007. After months of discussing the American Dragon and Kim Possible (© Disney) movements, Phil and Mike became partners and decided to expand Podnet into a public irc network. Since, they have upgraded the servers and software running PodNet, and have brought in two major channels [which are #rsnet and #codecall]. In addition, they have brought in two additional IRC Operators who are (John and ArtFan88).
